Hand Embroidered Blue Crab Brooch Pin

Some people collect shells. This is the grown-up version — a blue crab worked in cobalt and sand-colored beads, small enough for a lapel and detailed enough to hold the whole memory of a shoreline.

Trovelore's artisans build the piece entirely by hand, packing the carapace in tiny cream and gold beads laid over pale pink cord that curls across the shell like markings, edging the points in coral red, and articulating each leg and claw in banded blue, teal, and copper beads, with two fine wires tipped in gold standing in for eyes.

At approximately 2.25 inches across, it pins easily to a linen jacket, tote strap, or straw hat and arrives in its own gift box — a small piece of the coast you can take inland with you.
